Questia Replaces ProQuest Literature
In December the library will begin offering access to a new research database. Questia will replace ProQuest Literature, which has been an ongoing library subscription for several years. Questia offers access to eBooks, magazines, and journals in the humanities. In combination with our current periodical sources available through EBSCOhost and our current print and virtual book collections, Questia will go a long way toward meeting student information needs. Questia content is primarily for high school students, but might be useful for some eighth-graders.
See a quick demo here.
Unlike our other databases, students will access Questia with a personal username and password. This will enable students to organize research projects, bookmark books, highlight content, and make marginal notes right on the digital pages they have read and stored within their account.
Further, unlike our other databases, teachers will be able to create courses within Questia, post reading lists and assignments, and monitor student access to their course materials. Questia also contains an extensive professional development collection.
Questia amounts to a powerful research and organizational tool for both students and staff. Look for more info in the coming weeks.
